Royce Vallejo
is
Rooster.
Royce
was born in Great Falls, Montana. Royce has worked
in crafting leather products for fifteen years, as a
professional taxidermist and leather braider and
more recently a saddle maker.
Royce started
building knife sheaths for his close friend Rod
Chappel (builder of the Original Conan the Barbarian
sword) and then started a small taxidermy shop in
Seattle, Washington. He started working on saddles
and tack while in Seattle.
He was trained and worked under
David Morgan (of Indiana
Jones bullwhips fame) braiding bullwhips and other
braided leather products.
Royce
attended the Spokane Falls Community College saddle
making school in Spokane, WA.
In the fall of 2004
Royce established
Rooster's Saddlery,
LLC., to create custom built saddles
and tack for all equine enthusiast.
Royce has also worked as a
hunting guide over the last several years for
Sun Canyon Outfitters .
Royce has traveled by horseback on most of the
trails in and around the Bob Marshal wilderness area
(see picture above).
